Apex Community Park, our beloved 160-acre park, is undergoing some exciting renovations to enhance its facilities. This park features athletic fields, picnic areas, playgrounds, fitness and nature trails, and a 50+ acre lake. We're focusing on improving the playground adjacent to the baseball fields, making it more accessible for everyone. The renovations will include new, inclusive play equipment and ADA-accessible pathways, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for visitors of all abilities. As we move forward with these improvements, I want to remind you that the park remains open for your enjoyment. The main entrance is located at 2200 Laura Duncan Road, and our hours are from 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM year-round. Whether you're looking to play a game, take a stroll on the trails, or enjoy a picnic, there's something for everyone at the park. Looking ahead, we are also initiating a pilot program starting January 1, 2026, to expand morning operational hours and keep park gates open throughout the day. Fishing dock (fishing permit required) - Apex Community Park is part of the NC Wildlife Community Fishing Program and is stocked with channel catfish. This pier is wheelchair accessible.
Vessel launch (vessel permit required) - Canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, sailboards, john boats and rowing skulls are allowed on the lake and must be launched from the designated launch site only. Vessels may not exceed 14ft in length.
