Detailed Summary
Apex Community Park, our beloved 160-acre park, is undergoing some exciting renovations to enhance its facilities. This park features athletic fields, picnic areas, playgrounds, fitness and nature trails, and a 50+ acre lake. We're focusing on improving the playground adjacent to the baseball fields, making it more accessible for everyone. The renovations will include new, inclusive play equipment and ADA-accessible pathways, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for visitors of all abilities.
As we move forward with these improvements, I want to remind you that the park remains open for your enjoyment. The main entrance is located at 2200 Laura Duncan Road, and our hours are from 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM year-round. Whether you're looking to play a game, take a stroll on the trails, or enjoy a picnic, there's something for everyone at the park. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to call the park office at (919) 249-3402.
Looking ahead, we are also initiating a pilot program starting January 1, 2026, to expand morning operational hours and keep park gates open throughout the day. This is part of our commitment to enhancing access to our community resources. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to make Apex Community Park a place where everyone can come together and enjoy the outdoors.
