Detailed Summary
Hunter Street Park is undergoing exciting enhancements, including the addition of a new feature that many of you have shown interest in. This 12-acre park already boasts a variety of amenities, such as athletic fields, a dog park, picnic areas, a playground, and the Trackside Skate Plaza, which is open 24/7. I encourage everyone to explore the park, located at 1250 Ambergate Station, and enjoy its offerings from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm year-round, with specific hours for fields and restrooms. One of the key updates is the upcoming pilot initiative set to begin on January 1, 2026. This initiative will expand morning operational hours and open all park entrance gates during all hours for an eight-month period. This change aims to enhance accessibility, allowing more residents to utilize the park at their convenience. You can read more about this initiative on our website. Additionally, we're developing a new bike track project that will feature a pump track and a mountain bike skill training track. We want your input on this project, so please share your thoughts by emailing ApexParksPlan@apexnc.org. The project is currently in the concept planning stage, with an anticipated completion date in Summer 2027. Your feedback is invaluable as we work towards making Hunter Street Park an even better place for all.
